SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State women's basketball returns home for a four-game homestand, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 14 with the team's annual Kids Game vs Southern Miss.
The game will tip off at 11 a.m. with over 3,000 local San Marcos ISD students in attendance. Fans can purchase tickets at txst.com/tickets or tune in on ESPN+.
The Bobcats will also host the Troy Trojans on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1 pm inside Strahan Arena.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
- Southern Miss enters the week with a 10-6 record on the year and are 3-2 in Sun Belt play.
- The Golden Eagles are led by head coach Missy Bilderback who is in her 1st season leading the program after spending two seasons with ULM. She has a 42-39 record in her three seasons as a Division I coach.
- Jakayla Johnson leads the Warhawks with an average of 13.88 points per game. She is one of five Warhawks averaging double digits, alongside Hayleigh Breland (12.31), Meloney Thames (11.50), Sakyia White (11.31), and Carly Keats (11.19).
- Defensively, White leads the way with 7.94 rebounds per game.

- Texas State is 3-3 all-time against Southern Miss.
- Texas State won the last meeting between the two teams on Feb. 22, 2025 by a 62-57 scoreline.

ABOUT THE TROJANS
- Troy enters the week with a 13-3 record on the year and are 4-1 in Sun Belt play. The Trojans will play at ULM before making the trip to San Marcos.
- The Trojans are led by head coach Chanda Rigby who is in her 14th season leading the program. She has a 268-160 record in her tenure.
- Fortuna Ngnawo leads the Trojans with an average of 15.38 points per game. She is one of three Trojans averaging double digits, alongside Emani Jenkins (13.00), and Zay Dyer (12.44).
- Defensively, Dyer leads the way with 11.56 rebounds per game, while Ngnawo has 9.63.

- Texas State is 5-15 all-time against Troy.
- Texas State lost the previous meeting between these two teams this season by a 84-49 scoreline at Troy on Jan. 7.
- Texas State's last win came on Jan. 16, 2018 by a 83-75 scoreline.
ABOUT THE BOBCATS
- The Freshmen: Texas State has added two freshmen, Angela Carroll and Kaliyah Murphy.
- The Transfers: Texas State has added seven transfers, including three Division I transfers.
- The Returners: Antoine returns four members from 2024-2025 to this year's team.
- Saniya Burks leads the returners for minutes played and points scored last year as she enters her sophomore season. She started the season with a nations-best 34 points against Ohio and has had six 20+ point games this season.
- Taleiyah Gibbs played in 25 games for the Bobcats last season off the bench and returns for her junior season as well.
- Also returning are Mia Galbraith who missed the year with an ACL injury, and Takeira Ramey who missed the latter half of last season with an ACL injury.
