Women’s Tennis Opens 2025 Fall Season at Cowgirl Invite

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis opens its 2025 fall season this weekend at the Cowgirl Invite, hosted by McNeese State University from Friday through Sunday.

Head coach Kendall Brooks enters her fourth season with the Bobcats following a historic 2024-25 campaign.

Texas State finished 16-5 overall and 7-3 in Sun Belt Conference play, setting program records for both total wins and SBC victories in a single season.

The Bobcats began last season with nine consecutive wins, tying the program record, and later secured their highest seed (No. 3) and highest end-of-season ranking (No. 3) in the Sun Belt tournament.

This year's roster includes four returners, led by seniors Ireland Simme and Emily Niers, along with sophomores Chantajah Mills and Tadiwa Mauchi.

Two sophomore transfers will make their Texas State debuts this season: Julia Richardet from Tennessee Wesleyan and Charlotte Roesch from San Diego State.

Three freshmen are joining the Bobcats this year: Olivia Collins, Stoney Cooks and Anastasia Radovanovic.

The Cowgirl Invite tournament field will consist of Texas State, McNeese, Tarleton State, and UL-Lafayette.

The tournament will follow a hidden dual format with matches beginning at 9 a.m. each day.
