SAN MARCOS, Texas – After an exceptional performance on the mound in an elimination game against App State, Texas State's
Bryson Dudley was named to the Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team. He is the first Bobcat named to the squad since 2023.
Â
Dudley made just his second start of the season, his first also coming against the Mountaineers, and threw a complete game shutout. He struck out a career-high 10 batters with a punch out in eight of the nine innings.
Â
The right-hander surrendered just two hits on the afternoon while facing the minimum 27 batters. Both times App State got a base knock, he induced an inning-ending double play.
Â
Dudley's complete game shutout was the first for a Texas State hurler in a postseason game since May 28, 2011 when the team defeated Stephen F. Austin 9-0 in the Southland Conference Tournament championship game. That day saw Joseph Dvorsky strike out five and give up four hits in a complete game effort.
