ABOUT TEXAS STATE
The Bobcats are coming off their first Sun Belt Conference road series victory in over a year after winning the final two games at Louisiana. It is just the third time that TXST has won a road series over the Ragin' Cajuns. Tuesday will see Texas State try to win their fourth game against a Power 4 program in midweek action having already defeated Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M this season.

Ryne Farber paces the team with a .291 average, 34 hits, 21 runs, 13 walks, seven hit by pitches and seven stolen bases. His seven doubles are tied for the team lead with Chase Mora, who has a team-high 18 RBI. Both Ian Collier and Mora have hit three home runs, one behind the team leader Austin Eaton.

Slated to return to the mound for the first time since Mar. 9 is Eaton. The right-hander is 1-2 with an 8.59 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 14.2 innings over four starts.

ABOUT BAYLOR
The Bears are coming off a series loss at home to Houston. They are 7-0 in midweek games this season with six of them taking place in Waco. The lone exception was the first meeting between them and the Bobcats. At home, Baylor is 16-5 with four of the losses coming in Big XII play. The only team to defeat the Bears at home in non-conference action was Gonzaga in the series finale by a score of 8-7 in 10 innings on Feb. 23.

Hunter Simmons leads the team with a .268 batting average, 42 hits and 11 doubles while adding 25 RBI and three homers. Also hitting over .300 are Tyriq Kemp (.336) and Pearson Riebock (.364). The trio of  Enzo Apodaca (35 R, 28 RBI), Wesley Jordan (25 RBI) and Jack Little (30 R, 25 RBI) have hit a team leading five round trippers.

Taking the hill on Tuesday will be Mason Green. The lefty will be making his season debut. Last season, the sophomore went 2-6 with a 7.20 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 40 innings spanning 15 games including eight starts.

Gabe Craig has earned six of the team's nine saves. He has a 1.42 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 12.2 innings. Picking up a save apiece has been Caleb Bunch (1-0, 2.11 ERA, 18 K) and Stefan Stahl (1-1, 4.91 ERA).

Baylor leads the all-time series 54-26 after winning the first meeting this season 19-3 in seven innings in San Marcos on Mar. 18. When facing the Bears in Waco, Texas State is 18-36 all-time. Last time the teams met on the Bears' home turf was on Mar. 30, 2021 and saw Baylor win 4-2. The Bobcats' last win on the road was a 12-2 run-rule victory in eight innings on Mar. 3, 2020.
