Box Score SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis tied the program record for most wins in a season (14) after sweeping Southern Miss 4-0 on Saturday. The Bobcats moved to 14-3 overall and 5-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.
"Big win on the road and I think the tennis gods were looking out for us to even be able to get this match in with the forecasted weather," said head coach 
Kendall Brooks.  "The girls played super solid doubles and then composed, competitive tennis in singles to clinch the match. Excited for them and what's still in front of us."
The Bobcats earned the doubles point to begin the match after winning matches on courts one and two. They continued their winning ways in singles play and won matches on courts five, two and four.
Texas State's fifth conference win tied the program record for most wins in Sun Belt play. They recorded five wins last season and went 5-5 in SBC play.

Doubles
The pair of 
Sofia Fortuno and 
Ireland Simme earned the first win in doubles play for the Bobcats on Court 1. Fortuno and Simme won their match 6-0 and remained undefeated (4-0) as a pair.
The clinch for the doubles point came from 
Chantajah Mills and 
Maria Lora on Court 2. Mills and Lora played together for the first time this season and won their match 6-2.
Singles
The Bobcats' dominance continued into singles play as they won three consecutive matches to earn their 14th victory of the season.
Ireland Simme continued her winning ways and moved to 13-0 on the season after winning her Court 5 match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. After Simme's win, Texas State was up 2-0 on Southern Miss.
The Bobcats moved to 3-0 after 
Callie Creath won her match in straight sets on Court 2. Creath won 6-4, 7-5, improving to 7-4 in singles play this season.
The match-clinching point came from 
Sofia Fortuno on Court 4. Fortuno won her match 6-1, 7-5, moving the Bobcats to 14-3 overall this season.

Texas State will be back in action tomorrow as it faces South Alabama at 10 a.m. CT. The Bobcats will be in search of a record-breaking 15th win against the Jaguars.
