SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State track and field will begin its outdoor season Friday by hosting the Charles Austin Classic at the Texas State Track and Field Complex in San Marcos, Texas.
This marks the fourth consecutive season the Bobcats will host the Charles Austin Classic. The two-day meet runs Friday and Saturday and will feature athletes from Texas State, Trinity, St. Edward's, UTRGV and Dillard University.
Day one of the meet starts at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw, while day two begins at 10 a.m. with the discus throw.
Day two will also include a senior recognition ceremony at 1 p.m. to honor the following seniors:

Nikia Smith,
Lauryn Small,
Madison Sloan,
Shedrack Akpeki,
Daniel Garland,
Daniel Harrold,
Michael Hermes,
Koket Jimata,
Kason O'Riley,
Elias Palmer and
Simon Thor.
National qualifiers in the hammer throw,
Elisabet Runarsdottir (NCAA champion) and
Lara Roberts, will make their season debuts in the event Friday. Runarsdottir will begin her campaign to defend her NCAA title, while Roberts looks to improve on her 14th-place finish from last season.
On the men's side,
Daniel Harrold, who holds the eighth-best time in Texas State history for the 110-meter hurdles, will make his 2025 outdoor debut Saturday.
