SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State women's basketball will return home for its first of two games with in-state opponents this week. The Bobcats will host UTRGV on Nov. 17 at 7 pm in Strahan Arena for its Military Appreciation Night.

The team will then head to Corpus Christi for a midweek game at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on Nov. 20. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
SERIES HISTORY VS UTRGV
- Texas State is 2-0 all-time against UTRGV.
- Their last meeting was on Nov. 30, 2024 when Texas State won 68-59 in Edinburg.
- Last time the team's met in Strahan Arena, Texas State won 66-63.
ABOUT THE VAQUEROS
- UTRGV was 16-16 in 2024-25 with a 11-9 record in conference play. They made a first-round exist of the Southland Conference Tournament after a 55-53 loss to Nicholls.
- The Vaqueros are led by head coach Lane Lord who is in his eighth season at the helm of the program. He has a 87-123 record in his tenure.
- Jalayah Ingram is leading the scoring for UTRGV with an average of 16.0 points per game. She is one of four Vaqueros averaging double-digits.
- Defensively, Charloette O'Keefe leads with 13.7 rebounds a night.
SERIES HISTORY VS TEXAS A&M – CORPUS CHRISTI
- Texas State is 16-9 all-time against TAMUCC.
- The Islanders have won the last three meetings between the two sides, most recently on Nov. 9, 2024 when they won 62-57.
- Texas State's last win was on Dec. 16, 2020 by a 56-46 scoreline.
ABOUT THE ISLANDERS
- TAMUCC finished the 2024-2025 season with a 15-17 record with a 7-13 record in Southland play. The team made a first round exit from the SLC Tournament with a 66-63 loss to Northwestern State.
- The Islanders are led by head coach Toyelle Wilson who is in her first season with the program after spending four seasons at SMU. She has a 111-109 record in her eight year career.
- Samora Watson is leading the scoring for TAMUCC with an average of 13.7 points per game. She is one of four Islanders to be averaging double-digits so far this season.
- Defensively, Watson and K'Nari Holliday lead with 6.7 rebounds a night each.
MEET THE ROSTER
- The Freshmen: Texas State has added two freshmen, Angela Carroll and Kaliyah Murphy.
- The Transfers: Texas State has added seven transfers, including three Division I transfers.
- The Returners: Antoine returns four members from 2024-2025 to this year's team.
- Saniya Burks leads the returners for minutes played and points scored last year as she enters her sophomore season. She started the season with a nations-best 34 points against Ohio.
- Taleiyah Gibbs played in 25 games for the Bobcats last season off the bench and returns for her junior season as well.
- Also returning are Mia Galbraith who missed the year with an ACL injury, and Takeira Ramey who missed the latter half of last season with an ACL injury.
