Bobcats Wrap Up Competition at Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind.– Texas State Cross Country wrapped up its third meet of the season Friday at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational at Burke Golf Course.

The invitational featured Blue and Gold divisions, with teams separated based on entry marks and projected race times.

The Bobcat women competed in the Blue Division 5K, finishing 20th as a team with an average time of 18:06.2.

Alexia Tiscareno Macias led Texas State, placing 84th with a time of 17:36.5. Jocelyn Karry followed in 104th at 17:49.9, while Susana Rawls finished 127th in 18:06.5.

Macias, Karry and Rawls have been Texas State's top three finishers in each of the team's first three meets of the season.

On the men's side, freshman Jaxon Asbill continued his strong start to the season, placing 13th with a time of 24:26.5. Anthony Sandoval finished 17th in 24:30.8, while Jack Deelman placed 25th at 24:39.1.

Asbill, Sandoval and Deelman have also comprised Texas State's top three finishers in each of the team's first three meets.

Texas State will take next weekend off before returning to competition Oct. 16 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M in College Station. The meet will serve as the Bobcats' final tune-up before the inaugural Pac-12 Cross Country Championships, scheduled for Oct. 30 and hosted by Boise State.
