Destinee Marshall Joins Women's Basketball as Graduate Assistant

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's basketball head coach Zenarae Antoine announced Tuesday morning that Destinee Marshall is joining her coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant ahead of the 2024-25 season.

"Destinee's passion for the game and willingness to learn is evident from the moment you talk to her," Antoine said. "It is great to bring former women's basketball players into our profession. I look forward to Destinee joining our coaching staff as our Graduate Assistant."

Marshall joins the Bobcats after finishing her playing career at Purdue Fort Wayne under head coach Maria Marchesano. Marshall played two years under Marchesano after transferring from Radford where she spent the first two years of her career.

The Louisville native played at guard for Purdue Fort Wayne and will help coach the guards at Texas State. In her final season, she averaged 8.8 points a night while having a season-high 22 point night versus Youngstown State. She started in 32 games in the 2023-24 season, the sixth most in a single season by a Purdue Fort Wayne player.

"Destinee is a basketball junkie with a natural IQ and feel for the game," Marchesano said. "She can see and think the game at a high level, but her best assets lie in her ability to connect with people and constantly bring positivity to the room. I'm very excited to watch as Des begins her career on this side of things! I know she will be just as big of a star as before."

Texas State added Marshall to its staff as the team prepares for its 2024-25 slated to begin Nov. 4 at Eastern Michigan as part of the 2024-25 MAC-SBC Challenge.
