SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's basketball had three players in double-digits enroute to a 64-38 win over UNT Dallas in its final game before the start of Sun Belt action.

Freshman
Kaliyah Murphy led the way with 12 points for the second double digit night of her career. She was alongside
Mia Galbraith and
Myri Walker who each had 10 points apiece tonight. Â
WHAT HEAD COACH ZENARAE ANTOINE SAID:Â "We had a tough preseason schedule. This game came at the right time as far as a chance to get more players opportunity and working on certain looks. It's important that we get better. Winning is always important, but that we are working to get better. There were very specific things that we were looking to do today and I thought we were able to accomplish some of those things today."
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
Texas State started the game with a 6-0 lead after a hot start. The team was able to extend that lead out to 18-12 to end the quarter despite UNT Dallas getting some looks off the Bobcats' turnovers. Anderson led with six points in the opening quarter on 3-5 shooting.Â

The Bobcats cleaned things up in the second quarter defensively to limit UNT Dallas to just 10 points. Texas State put up 13 of their own courtesy of four apiece from
Angela Carroll and Galbraith. At the half, Texas State led 31-22.

The Bobcats were effective in the third on both ends of the floor, outscoring UNT Dallas 19-6 and holding them to just 2-12 shooting. That, combined with 8-18 shooting for Texas State helped them to a 19-point quarter to broaden the gap between the two sides heading into the final quarter.

Texas State held UNT Dallas to two made field goals again in the fourth quarter to limit them to 10 points while they went 5-8 from the free throw line. Texas State scored 14 of their own, with seven apiece from Murphy and Walker. Texas State won 64-38 after leading for all four minutes of the game.Â

Texas State is now 3-6 on the season after today's game against the Trailblazers.
