ABOUT TEXAS STATE
The Bobcats are coming off a 10-0 shutout victory in seven innings over Incarnate Word on Tuesday. It was the first midweek shutout at home for TXST since a 2-0 victory over Baylor on Apr. 23, 2014. Texas State is looking to win its first Sun Belt Conference series since taking two of three at James Madison a month ago.

Ryne Farber continued his hot streak at the plate since returning to action last Friday. In the past four games, the freshman is batting 8-for-14 (.517) with three runs scored, three RBI and one double. He is hitting .391 on the season with 25 runs, 21 RBI, seven doubles and two home runs. Kameron Weil is the only other regular in the lineup batting over .300 with a .312 mark with 12 RBI and six stolen bases.

Four Bobcats have driven in at least 30 runs led by Chase Mora (.238 AVG, 8 2B) and Daylan Pena (.299 AVG, 13 2B, 7 HR) with 33 each. Aaron Lugo has 31 RBI while pacing the team with nine home runs and 42 runs scored. August Ramirez has driven in 30 runs after a two-homer game on Tuesday that plated five runs.

Slated to start on Friday is Cameron Bush, who will be making his second straight Friday start. The senior right-hander has a 4.60 ERA and struck out 21 in 29.1 innings over 15 appearances including three starts. Starters for both Friday's second game and Saturday are still to be announced.

ABOUT ARKANSAS STATE
The Red Wolves fell 10-8 at Central Arkansas on Tuesday. They are now 2-11-1 since winning back-to-back games against Marshall and Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Mar. 24 & 26, respectively. Last weekend saw ASU drop the first two games to App State at home before playing to a 12-12 tie in 10 innings on Sunday due to the Mountaineers travel plans. At home, the Red Wolves are 12-8-1 with a 2-6-1 mark against Sun Belt opponents.

Allen Grier leads the team with a .308 average while hitting five home runs and driving in 26 runs. The only other player batting over .300 is Austin Jaslove at .303. He has also hit five long balls while scoring 22 times and plating 22 runs. Posting a team best six homers and 27 RBI has been Cason Tollett.

The starter for the second game of the twin bill has yet to be announced. Dylan Heine will get the ball on Saturday and comes in with a 2-0 mark, 3.18 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 45.1 innings.

SERIES VS. THE RED WOLVES
Holding a slim 16-15 advantage in the series is Texas State. The Bobcats have won 10 of the last 12 meetings. When playing the Red Wolves in Jonesboro, TXST is 6-6 all-time with the last meeting coming in 2022 that saw the Bobcats sweep the series.
