Box Score HARLINGEN, Texas – Texas State women's tennis won its sixth match in a row after it defeated UTRGV 4-3 on Saturday.
The Bobcats ended their nonconference play with their longest winning streak in 10 years (since 2014).
"I knew today's match was going to be a battle and I'm so proud of how the girls came out and competed," said Texas State head coach
Kendall Brooks. "Very happy to get that win against a tough team on the road, it was a great ending to the nonconference schedule, and I think it gives us some great momentum going into conference play next week."
Similar to last week against New Mexico State, the Bobcats dropped the doubles point but it did not disturb them as they bounced back to win the match in singles.
DOUBLES
Sofia Fortuno and
Maria Lora were back to their winning ways on court two and were the lone Texas State duo to win their doubles match 6-2.
The pair of

Emily Niers lost their first doubles match of the season 6-3 in a match that secured the Vaqueros the doubles point.
On court one,
Mae McCutcheon and
Jadeh Chan dropped their doubles match 6-3 to UTRGV's Isabelle Bahr and Marjorie Souza.
