SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State women's basketball returns home to host the UNT Dallas Trailblazers on Sunday afternoon. The game is part of a doubleheader inside Strahan Arena with Texas State men's basketball, who host Rice.
This game is part of Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night in Strahan Arena with Texas State Faculty and Staff receiving discounted tickets.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and have a radio broadcast on KTSW 89.9.
SERIES HISTORY
• Texas State has a 2-0 record all-time against UNT-Dallas.
• Texas State won their last meeting in 2023 by a 79-41 scoreline. In 2022 the Bobcats won 58-39.
MEET THE ROSTER
- The Freshmen: Texas State has added four freshman, Heather Baymon, Saniya Burks, Takeira Ramey, and Melinda Winston.
- Three of the four freshmen played high school basketball in the state of Texas (Burks, Baymon, Winston) while Ramey is the lone freshman coming from out of state.
- All four freshman have seen minutes and scored this season. Burks started in the season opener versus Eastern Michigan.
- The Transfers: Texas State has added six transfers, including five Division I transfers.
- The Returners: Antoine returns five members from 2023-2024 to this year's team.
THE BOBCAT BENCH:
- Texas State is currently ranked No. 28 in the nation for its average of 30.6 bench points a night. The Bobcats have outscored their opponent's bench in five of their seven games so far.
ABOUT THE TRAILBLAZERS
- Tarleton State finished the 2023-24 season with an 5-17 record in SAC play.
- They are currently 2-7 this season with wins over Oklahoma Wesleyan and Oklahoma Panhandle State.
- The Trailblazers are led by 1st year interim head coach Shelia Davis.
- The Trailblazers leading scorer is Skye Dugan who has 141 points so far this season for an average of 15.7 per game. Eryka Patton leads the rebounding with 10.3 a night and 93 on the season.
- The Trailblazers play at Central Christian College on Dec. 7 at 2 pm before they come to Strahan Arena to face the Bobcats.
