SAN MARCOS, Texas – Coming off a stretch of playing seven of the last eight games on the road, Texas State (29-16) will host seven of its final 11 games at Bobcat Ballpark beginning on Tuesday when Incarnate Word (24-20) comes to town for a 6 p.m. first pitch.

The Bobcats are coming off winning the series at Old Dominion that saw them take the series opener and finale. TXST is 9-3 this season in midweek games and are 5-2 when playing in San Marcos.

Davis Powell continues to be the spark plug of the offense with a team-high .387 average, 53 hits, 39 runs and 15 doubles. Also batting over .300 is
Chase Mora at .304 while hitting a team-high 13 home runs and has driven in 41 runs.
Jose Gonzalez is the only other Bobcat with double-digit homers at 10 and has posted a team best 45 RBI. Freshman
Rashawn Galloway is on a seven-game hitting streak in which he has gone 13-for-29 (.448) at the plate.

Scheduled to get the ball on Tuesday is
Peyton Zabel. The right-hander is 2-1 with a 4.56 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 23.2 innings spanning nine games, including seven starts. He has not allowed a run over his last 9.2 innings while striking out eight.

Triston Dixon (4-1, 4.19 ERA, 5 SV) has made a team-high 22 appearances in relief. Pacing all relievers with 52 strikeouts with a 2-2 record, two saves and a 3.62 ERA is
Jack Stroud. Also with a sub-4.00 ERA out of the bullpen is
Jonathan Martinez at 3.86 over 14 innings.

ABOUT INCARNATE WORD
This past weekend saw the Cardinals claim a home series over McNeese. They are 4-7 overall and 2-4 on the road when playing midweek contests.

Leading the way with a .350 batting average is Jimmy De Leon. He has also recorded 57 hits, 33 RBI, 30 runs, 20 doubles and six home runs. Alec Carr paces the squad with 12 homers while adding 43 RBI, 39 runs and nine stolen bases. Rey Mendoza has driven in a team-high 53 runs and scored 40 times. He is also batting .311 with nine longs balls and six doubles.

Earning a team best five saves has been Steve Hayward. He comes in with a 6-3 record, 1.80 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 53 strikeouts over 16 games out of the bullpen. Otto Stacey sports a 2-0 record, 3.74 ERA and 24 punch outs over 21.2 innings.

SERIES VS. CARDINALS
Texas State leads the all-time series 27-11. The first meeting this season saw the Bobcats win 12-8 in San Antonio on Feb. 28. When hosting UIW, TXST is 21-7 and has won the last nine meetings in San Marcos. The last loss was an 8-1 contest on Feb. 8, 2000.
