WACO, Texas – Elisabet Runarsdottir had a runner-up finish in the women's hammer throw as the freshman continued her impressive outdoor season and highlighted Texas State's day one at the Michael Johnson Invitational hosted by Baylor.
Â
Runarsdottir, out of Iceland, threw 62.12 meters/203-9 to finish second in the hammer throw and behind former Texas State thrower
Alyssa Wilson, who competed unattached and won the event with a toss of 71.84 meters/235-8. Runarsdottir and Wilson are Texas State's best women's hammer throwers in program history as the two are the only performers in the school's all-time top-10.
Â
Runarsdottir has thrown 62+ meters in the women's hammer throw in four of her five outdoor meets so far this year and leads the Sun Belt in the event.
Â

Cara Johnson and
Cameron Conyers had personal-bests in their respective events. Johnson ran 24.88 in the women's 200 while Conyers clocked a time of 21.67 in the men's 200.
