Davis Powell enters the contest leading TXST with a .404 batting average and 10 doubles. He has also scored 20 runs, driven in 13 and hit two home runs.
Jose Gonzalez has a team-high 35 RBI behind eight homers, seven doubles and one triples while also hitting .357 with 24 runs scored.

The Vaqueros won two of three games at New Mexico State over the weekend. They are 1-3 in midweek games with the win coming last Tuesday against UTSA. When playing at home, UTRGV has posted a 10-9 record.

Isaac Lopez leads the squad in batting average (.378), hits (34) and home runs (5) while scoring 21 times, plating 19 runs and hitting four doubles. Roberto Gonzalez (.341) and Steven Lancia (.314) are both hitting over .300 with one homer and 10 RBI. Also with a .300 or better average is Kade York (12 RBI) at .320.

Starting on the rubber will be J.C. Ariza. The right-hander will be making his fifth midweek start. In that time, he has gone 1-2 with a 10.13 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 16.0 innings.

Earning a team-high two saves has been Zach Tjelmeland. He is 0-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 10.1 innings spanning seven games. Sebastian Mejia has come out of the bullpen a team leading 10 times while posting a 0-2 record, 7.47 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 15.2 innings. Making eight relief appearances with a 2-0 mark, 2.18 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 20.2 frames is Alex Verdugo.
