SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State tennis will be on the road for the first time in over a month for their first conference matches outside of San Marcos, Texas. The Bobcats will play at Georgia Southern Saturday, March 25 at 10 a.m. CT and at Coastal Carolina Sunday, March 26 at 9 a.m. CT. Â

Texas State (4-8, 0-3 Sun Belt) is on a three-match losing steak following a 5-2 loss to Southern Miss to conclude their seven-match homestand. Just two doubles pairs hold an active win streak including
Sofia Fortuno and
Maria Lora who have won three-straight on line three.
Jadeh Chan and
Andrea Pineda found their way back in the lineup on court two and clinched the doubles point against Southern Miss.Â

In the last outing for the Bobcats
Kiana Graham was the only one to walk away with a singles win to make her 6-6 on the top court.
Sofia Fortuno's six-match win streak was snapped in a straight set loss. Texas State is 6-12 in singles matches against conference opponents and have a 1-3 road record.Â

Georgia Southern (10-3, 1-1 Sun Belt) opened conference play with a 4-3 loss at Coastal Carolina and a 4-0 win at Troy. Early in the season Georgia Southern went on a seven-match run taking down opponents and not letting them win more than three points in a match.Â

The Eagles have won eight doubles points this season with duo Ninon Martinache and Lindsay Tulenko going 7-5 on court three, the best record for Georgia Southern. On the singles side Nanaka Kijima, who earned a conference player of the week honor earlier this season, is 16-2 across the middle courts and is on an 11-match win streak. Silvia Martinez has just three losses in 15 matches on the top two courts and is just shy of winning ten-straight matches, currently with eight.Â

About Coastal Carolina
Coastal Carolina (10-4, 2-0) is second in conference standings after winning ten-straight matches. The Chanticleers have claimed back-to-back conference players of the week in Megan Hopton and Anna Babayan. That pair teams up for the doubles top spot with their own winning streak of 10-straight. The Chanticleers round out doubles play with Jesse Hollins and Victoire De Samucewicz with a 6-0 record on line three.Â

All but one of the Chanticleers have just two or less losses in singles play through the last 10 matches, and six of them holding active win streaks. Anna Babayan on court two and Megan Hopton on court three have seven wins on their courts, the most among the Chanticleers.Â
