Men’s Golf Finishes in the Top-10 at All-American Intercollegiate

HUMBLE, Texas – Texas State men's golf recorded their sixth top-ten finish of the season when the Bobcats tied for tenth at the All-American Intercollegiate at the Golf Club of Houston. Jack Burke led the Bobcats for the second tournament in a row.

"Solid week for the 'Cats," said men's golf head coach Shane Howell. "We competed especially well against the Sun Belt teams. As we get closer to the conference tournament it nice to build some confidence. We need to clean up some small little things, but we made another step forward this week."

Texas State shot six-over 294 in the final round, their lowest of the tournament. The Bobcats moved two spots up the leaderboard to end in a three-way tie for 10th alongside Southern Mississippi and North Texas 22-over. This is the teams sixth finish in the top-10 and second highest of the season. The Bobcats beat three of the five other Sun Belt teams competing in the tournament including Georgia State, Louisiana and ULM.

No. 29 Ole Miss are the team champions finishing nine-under.

Jack Burke finished first in the Bobcat lineup for the second consecutive time and finished the final round one-over 73. Burke found himself six spots higher on the leaderboard from the first day to tie for 27th, four-over 220.

Kasper Nyland closed out the tournament tied for 44th after going two-over 74 in the final round for his second-lowest round of the tournament. Sakke Siltala and Harrison Hineline had their lowest round of the tournament in the final round. Siltala had a double bogey and six birdies for one-over in the third round.
