SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's golf team returns to action for its final tournament of the fall when it takes on the 16-team field at the Saint Mary's Invitational. The three-day tournament starts Monday at the Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, California.

Ben Loveard leads the Bobcat lineup at the event, having all nine of his rounds counted toward the team score in 2025. The senior has a 71.2 adjusted scoring average and a team-best three rounds in the 60s. Sakke Siltala is also making his fourth start for TXST this season and led the Bobcats with a top-10 finish at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic.

ERIE, Colorado – The Texas State men's golf team closed out the final round of action at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational with a 2-under final round to finish the event ninth on the team leaderboard at -12.

Ben Loveard (71-70-69--210) led the Bobcats in the 100-player field tying for 21st with a scorecard that included an unblemished 3-under final 18. The senior now has three top 25 finishes in as many tournaments this season.

Bryce Womack (70-71-71--212) collected three rounds under par at the tournament to finish second in the TXST lineup at -4, good to tie for 35th. Jaxon Donaldson (66-74-73--213), who opened with a team-low 66 on the first 18, checked in at tied for 42nd after a +1 final round put him at 3-under across 54 holes.

Team Notes
The Bobcats are coming off a 2024-25 season that saw them compete at the National Golf Invitational for the second time in three seasons. TXST posted three top five finishes a season ago, including back-to-back fourth place finishes at the Kapolei Invitational and Hal Williams Collegiate for season bests. The Bobcats were sixth at the Sun Belt Conference Championship.

Individually, Sakke Siltala became the first Texas State men's golfer to qualify for NCAA Division I National Championships in program history, where he tied for 36th. The team had a four-year stretch at the Division II level when it won the 1983 National Championship and placed second in 1982 and third in 1984 before making the transition to DI in 1984.     

The Bobcats placed sixth in both the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate and the Sandestin Collegiate Classic to open the 2025-26 season. Most recently, they were ninth at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. Both Bryce Womack (T5, Myrtle Beach) and Sakke Siltala (T9, Sandestin) have top 10 finishes to open the year.

Jose Manuel Berenguel Casas… Made the lineup in each of Arkansas – Pine Bluff's tournaments during his sophomore campaign, earning six top 10 finishes, four in the top three and a win at the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship… Was also third at the SWAC Championship and helped UAPB to wins at the PGA WORKS event as well as the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate, while adding runner-up finishes at the SWAC Championship and two additional events.

Harrison Jaeger… Saw action in 2 tournaments, including as part of the TXST lineup at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate… Carded 15 birdies.
