SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State football coaching staff moved closer to completion as head coach GJ Kinne announced the group of analysts, graduate assistants and support staff to help guide the team in his first year with the Bobcats.

Landon Keopple – Senior Offensive Analyst
Coming to Texas State from UIW, Keopple will serve as the senior offensive analyst for Kinne and offensive coordinator Mack Leftwich. Keopple worked for the two in 2022 as a senior offensive analyst and helped UIW win a conference championship, reach the semifinals of the FCS Playoffs, and average more than 51 points per game. This is the third time Keopple has worked with Kinne as the two worked together at Hawaii in 2020. Keopple was the offensive quality control coach that year under then-offensive coordinator Kinne before moving to the director of football operations and chief of staff role in 2021. Prior to Hawaii, Keopple spent 11 seasons at Southern Arkansas, including nine as the offensive coordinator. He guided Southern Arkansas to have one of the most prolific offenses at the NCAA Division II level and tutored several notable quarterbacks who earned conference, region and national honors. The former collegiate quarterback started his career at Arkansas High School in Texarkana, where they won a 6A state championship, before moving on to Ouachita Baptist University for two seasons working as a graduate assistant overseeing wide receivers. Keopple graduated from Tulsa with a bachelor's degree and also has a master's degree from Henderson State.

Craig Suits – Senior Defensive Analyst
A former starter at Tulsa, Suits joins Texas State after spending the 2022 season with the Hurricane as the linebackers coach. Prior to his role overseeing the linebacker room, Suits was a graduate assistant and quality control assistant from 2018 to 2021 at Tulsa. In his time at Tulsa, he helped tutor NFL draft pick Zaven Collins (1st round, 2020) and a prospective draft pick this year, Jon-Michael Terry. Suits was a four-year starting linebacker for Tulsa and was named a Freshman All-American in 2014. A native of Dallas, Suits played high school football at Mesquite Poteet and has a bachelor's and master's degree from Tulsa.

Reggie Marshall – Defensive Analyst
Another addition from UIW, Marshall joins the Bobcats as a defensive analyst. In 2022, he was the Cardinals' defensive quality control coach and worked under current Texas State defensive coordinator, Jonathan Patke. He primarily assisted with the defensive line as well as the field goal block unit while with the Cardinals. Before UIW, Marshall coached at Madill High School. Out of Dallas, Marshall played collegiately at Southeastern Oklahoma State and is a product of Lake Highlands High School.

Steven Koch – Special Teams Analyst
Koch joins Texas State as a special teams analyst after spending the 2022 season at USF as a defensive assistant and interim special teams coordinator. He assisted current Texas State associate head coach/special teams coordinator Daniel Da Prato with the Bulls, including coordinating the special teams unit and recruiting specialists. Prior to USF, Koch was the special teams coordinator/tight ends and running backs coach at Dickinson State (N.D.) from 2020-22. He helped Dickinson win back-to-back NSAA championships and tutored four all-conference performers. Koch also has coaching stops at Chadron State (outside linebackers, 2019-20), Colorado (defensive intern, 2019) and Dickinson (outside linebackers, 2018). Koch played collegiately at Dickinson as a linebacker from 2014 to 2017 and helped the Blue Hawks to conference titles in each of his last three seasons. Koch is originally from Buffalo, South Dakota.
Chastin Evans - Offensive Quality Control/Assistant Wide Receivers
Evans will remain on the coaching staff as the offensive quality control/assistant wide receivers coach. He was with the Bobcats in 2022 as an assistant on the offensive side. A product of Kyle, Texas, Evans played high school football at Lehman High.

Clark Eyers – Associate Strength Coach
Eyers rejoins Bret Huth, Texas State Assistant AD, Strength and Conditioning for Football, after working with him at UIW since 2020. With the Cardinals, Eyers was the lead assistant football strength and conditioning coach in addition to overseeing the programs for volleyball and men's soccer. Originally from Dunn, N.C., Eyers walked on at NC State before earning a scholarship as a tight end from 2014-16. He worked with the NC State football staff as a strength and conditioning coach from 2019-20.

Drake Hughes – Assistant Strength Coach
A graduate of Mississippi State, Hughes had two stints working with the Bulldog football program: 2020 and 2022. In between, he worked with Huth at UIW as a graduate assistant for the football program in 2021. He also earned his master's degree from UIW in December 2022.

Connor Anderson – Assistant AD/Chief of Staff
Anderson, who served as Texas State's director of player personnel for the last four seasons, was promoted to Assistant AD/Chief of Staff. In his role, he will assist Coach Kinne and the rest of the coaching staff with daily operations, recruiting, and player personnel. He also has experience with Michigan (2018-19) as an assistant recruiting coordinator and player personnel analyst as well as Oklahoma (2014-17) as a football recruiting intern and development graduate assistant. Anderson is a graduate of Oklahoma.

James Sherman – Assistant AD/Director of Football Operations
A former Texas State football student-athlete, Sherman will transition to the role of Assistant AD/Director of Football Operations after serving as the director of player development for the Bobcats over the last four seasons. In his new role, he will oversee travel, operations, budget, and other player development duties. Texas State's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2018, Sherman was a four-year letterwinner for the Bobcats as a kicker. He also served as Texas State's SAAC president and vice chair of the Sun Belt Conference's SAAC during his time as a student-athlete. Sherman has three degrees from Texas State, including two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree.

Dru Sawyer – Assistant to the Head Coach/On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator
Sawyer has added the role of assistant to the head coach to her previous role of on-campus recruiting coordinator. Originally from Wichita Falls, Texas, Sawyer joined Texas State prior to the 2022 season after serving in recruiting roles at UTSA and Texas. Sawyer is a graduate of Texas.

Montana Mannheimer was also hired as the Director of Equipment Operations. He spent the last four-plus years at Texas A&M.

The Bobcats open spring practice on March 23 and will play their spring game on April 22 at 11 am at Bobcat Stadium.
