Powell joined Texas State football in the spring of 2022 as the Director of Creative Media. He oversees all creative and graphic work for the program, which is used in recruiting and social media.

Prior to Texas State, Powell did graphic design work for Pro Football Focus (PFF), Indiana State and Portland State. At Indiana State, he served as the Director of Creative Media for football from 2019 to 2022 while also assisting the athletic department in a rebranding and new visual identity for all of its programs. He started at Portland State from 2016 to 2019, serving as the lead graphic designer for the football program while still attending high school.

The Iowa native graduated from Indianola High School and attended Indiana State.
