Jarred Gray enters his third season with Texas State where he works with the defensive backs as a graduate assistant.
Prior to the Bobcats, Gray was at Ole Miss for four years. He served as a defensive quality control working with the defensive backs at Ole Miss in 2017 and 2018 before being elevated to the graduate assistant role in 2019 working with both the outside linebackers and defensive backs.

He started his coaching career in the 2017 season working as a defensive assistant after completing his time as a walk-on football player for the Rebels. During his time at Ole Miss, the team achieved going to back to back New Years Six Bowl games which included a win over Oklahoma State in the 2015 Sugar Bowl. As a coach with the Rebels, Gray assisted with two top 25 recruiting classes (2019, 2021) and an Outback Bowl win against Indiana to end the 2020 season.

While working with the Rebels, Gray worked with AJ Moore, CJ Moore, Myles Hartsfield, and Ken Webster all who have achieved 53 man rosters in the National Football League.

Gray earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2017 and his Master’s of Arts in Higher Education Student Personnel in 2021 from the University of Mississippi. A native of Clinton, MS, Gray graduated from Clinton High School in 2012.
