SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State (10-5) will face its first ranked opponent of the season when 11th-ranked TCU (9-6) comes to town Tuesday for a 6 p.m. first pitch inside Bobcat Ballpark.

All the seats in the stands are sold out. Standing room only tickets are available for purchase for $10 each. They can be bought online or the day of the game at the ticket booth.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Brant Freeman and Ty Harrington on the call. Fans can also tune into KTSW 89.9 FM to hear the action.

Through the first four games of the current 10-game homestand, the Bobcats have won three of them after sweeping North Dakota State over the weekend. It is the 11th series sweep by TXST since the start of the 2022 season, the second most in the nation behind Tennessee's 12.

Davis Powell returned to the lineup this weekend after missing the previous 10 games due to an injury. He is batting .478 with six doubles, five RBI and a .567 OBP.
Jose Gonzalez enters with a team leading 25 RBI while driving in 25 runs and posting a .507 OBP and stealing four bases. A team-high four home runs have been hit by
Chase Mora. The freshman has driven in 17 runs after a program record tying 9-RBI game on Saturday.

The only other TXST player with double-digit RBI is
Daylan Pena with 20. The first baseman has hit five long balls, four doubles and has posted a .273 batting average. Also with five home runs on the year is
August Ramirez. Both he and
Peyton Lewis are batting over .300 with marks of .333 and .325, respectively.

Set to start on Tuesday will be
Tony Robie. He will be making his first start of the season and 20th in his career. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 6.48 ERA and eight strikeouts over 8.1 innings spanning eight relief appearances.

Triston Dixon (4.38 ERA, 3 SV) has made a team-high nine appearances out of the bullpen.
Jack Stroud has struck out 15 over six relief appearances over 10.0 innings while posting a 1.80 ERA.

ABOUT TCU
The Horned Frogs are coming off a 2-2 week that saw them drop a midweek against UT Arlington and the series opener to San Diego. They responded with victories on Saturday and Sunday over the Toreros. Tuesday will be TCU's second true road game of the season with the only other contest coming on Feb. 28 at Dallas Baptist that ended 4-1 in 12 innings in the Horned Frogs' favor.

Tre Richardson, a transfer from Baylor, leads the team with a .389 batting average, 21 hits, 13 runs and six doubles. His 12 RBI are tied for the most on the squad with Austin Davis (.263, 3 HR, 6 SB). Brayden Taylor paces the squad with four home runs, 15 walks and a .437 OBP while driving in 10 runs and scoring 11 times. Also with 10 RBI is David Bishop, who has hit five doubles and the team's lone triple.

Getting the ball to start the contest will be Braeden Sloan. The lefty is 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA and seven strikeouts over 10 innings. He will be making his fourth start of the season, all of them being midweek contests.

Two saves have been earned by Louis Rodriguez (1-0, 0.77 ERA, 14 K). Picking up a save apiece has been Cohen Feser (0.00 ERA, 7 K) and Luke Savage (1-1, 4.22 ERA). Ben Abeldt (1-0, 8.38 ERA, 9 K) has pitched in a team-high six games in relief.

SERIES VS. HORNED FROGS
TCU holds a 25-14 advantage in the all-time series. In three of the last four meetings, Texas State has been the victor. Last time the teams met was in 2021 with a game at the Shriners College Classic held at Minute Maid Park and once in San Marcos. The Horned Frogs won the meeting in Houston 10-0 in eight innings, but the Bobcats responded with an 11-1 seven-inning victory three days later.

When hosting TCU, TXST is 4-5 all-time and have won the last two contests. Last time the Bobcats lost in San Marcos to the Horned Frogs was May 12, 2010 by a score of 10-5.
