SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the second time in the last six seasons, Texas State was selected to the field of 64 teams for the WNIT as the full list of 2023 participants was announced on Sunday evening.
The 25th Postseason WNIT features the Bobcats (23-9) as one of the 32 automatic qualifiers for the 64-team field. Texas State won a share of the Sun Belt Conference's regular season championship and reached the Sun Belt Basketball Championship title game in Pensacola, Fla. on March 6.
Texas State's opponent and game information will be announced on Monday, March 13 when the WNIT releases the full bracket.
The Bobcats are one of seven schools from the state of Texas selected to the field. Of those seven, Texas State is one of three who won at least a share of its regular season conference title.
This is the Bobcats' third all-time appearance in the WNIT. The last appearance was in 2018 when they faced Rice in the first round in Houston.
