2024 Texas State Baseball Leadoff Dinner

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State baseball's 2024 Leadoff Dinner sponsored by Werner's Catering will be held on Feb. 3 and will feature Texas Rangers Vice President/Assistant General Manager for Scouting Josh Boyd as the guest speaker.
 
The dinner will take place at the LBJ Student Center Ballroom on the campus of Texas State University. The cocktail social mixer begins at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner portion of the event starting at 7:30 p.m.
 
Tickets for the Leadoff Dinner are currently on sale with individual seats available for $100 and a full table of eight guests for $800.
 
Table sponsorships are also available for $500 which includes marketing through social media platforms, company name featured on sponsored table, recognition at the dinner and 10 tickets to any home game, excluding the contests against Texas and Texas A&M. The Leadoff Dinner is the apex of alumni weekend. Patrons will have the opportunity to watch SWT/TXST alumni take the field in the annual alumni game earlier during the day on Feb. 3 at Bobcat Ballpark.
 
Boyd has worked for 16 years withing the Rangers organization and has been in his current position since September 2021. He oversees the professional and Pacific Rim scouting departments and works closely on the key functions of the amateur scouting and draft process, including talent identification, R&D integration, cross-department collaboration as well as staff development and personnel decisions. He advises Rangers General Manager Chris Young on player acquisition and roster construction and is instrumental in hiring for key roles throughout Rangers Baseball Operations.
 
Prior to his current role, Boyd spent two years as Senior Director of Player Personnel after serving as Director of Pro Scouting (2009-14). He joined the Rangers in 2008 as Assistant Director of Pro Scouting.
 
A three-game series in Bobcat Ballpark against Youngstown State on Feb. Northwestern on Feb. 16 will begin the 2024 season.
