SAN MARCOS, Texas – The 2024 schedule for the Texas State baseball team was announced on Tuesday by head coach Steven Trout. The 56-game slate will see the Bobcats play 29 games at Bobcat Ballpark.
 
TXST will play 19 games against teams that competed in the NCAA Tournament of which 11 are taking place in San Marcos. Overall, 29 contests will be played at Bobcat Ballpark.
 
For the 14th consecutive year, the Bobcats will open at home when they welcome Youngstown State to town Feb. 16-18. The team then hits the road to take on TCU (Feb. 20) and will follows with a trip up I-35 to compete in the previously announced Round Rock Classic against Kansas, Kentucky and Washington State.
 
Texas State returns to San Marcos to face Prairie View A&M (Feb. 27) before heading to Houston for the Astros Foundation College Classic held at Minute Maid Park with games against Houston, Texas and the defending national champions LSU.
 
Following the Astros event, the Bobcats will play nine of their next 10 games at Bobcat Ballpark. First up will be a midweek contest against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Mar. 8) and the final non-conference weekend of the campaign versus Sam Houston (Mar. 8-10).
 
The lone road game during the stretch takes TXST to Stephenville, Texas to face Tarleton State. The team is back home for midweeks against HCU (Mar. 13) and I-35 rival UTSA (Mar. 19) that sandwich the Sun Belt Conference opening series versus App State (Mar. 15-17).
 
Also coming to San Marcos during conference play will be Louisiana (Mar. 28-30), South Alabama (Apr. 19-21), Old Dominion (May 3-5) and Troy (May 10-12).
 
Texas State will head on the road in the Sun Belt beginning with James Madison (Mar. 22-24). The Bobcats also have road series at Marshall (Apr. 4-7), ULM (Apr. 12-14), Arkansas State (Apr. 26-28) and Southern Miss (May 16-18).
 
For the third consecutive year, TXST will take on Texas on back-to-back days. The team will play at Bobcat Ballpark on Apr. 9 and face off in Ausitn the following day.
 
The Bobcats will complete the I-35 rivalry home-and-home with the Roadrunners on Apr. 30 with a trip to San Antonio. TXST also has a home-and-home midweek action against Incarnate Word (Apr. 16 & 23). The final midweek game will see Texas State take on McNeese (May 16) while the team hosts Texas A&M (Apr. 2) and UTRGV (Mar. 26).
