SAN MARCOS, TX — With the latest season of Texas State women's basketball quickly approach, Bobcat head coach
Zenarae Antoine announced, Wednesday afternoon, the full slate of games for the upcoming season.

"COVID disrupted a lot of our opportunities to play at home, and with our current schedule, our fans and families will get to see our team play at home," said Antoine.

The 2022-23 women's basketball has the ingredients to be a special one for the Bobcats as Antoine enters her 12th season at the helm of the program, and, as a result, is closing in on Suzanne Fox's all-time wins mark. Antoine needs 10 more wins to tie Fox's mark of 174 wins set during a 14-year tenure as head coach from 1997 to 2011.

Returning this season for Antoine, with aspirations of the ultimate accomplishment, are graduate students
Kennedy Taylor and
Da'Nasia Hood, both of whom are the only active Texas State women's basketball student-athletes to have scored 1,000-or-more career points. Hood will enter the new season ranked 10th on the program's career scoring list (1,412), while Taylor needs just 28 assists to pass Shelly Borton (1986-90) for the program's all-time career assist leader.

This season's schedule features 17 regular-season women's basketball games at Strahan Arena inside the University Events Center with the slate beginning on Monday, Nov. 7 against Howard Payne. The Bobcats will face their face Sun Belt opponent at home on Thursday, Jan. 5, when App State travels to San Marcos from Boone, N.C.

Non-conference foe UTSA will mark its first trip up I-35 towards San Marcos since Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, when the Bobcats knocked off the Roadrunners, 74-69, in overtime behind a 22-point outing from then-sophomore
Kennedy Taylor. Last season, the two teams returned to the court on Thursday, Nov. 18 in San Antonio, marking a return to action in the series after not playing during the 2020-21 season despite having played every year prior since Nov. 23, 1981.
