Volleyball maintains position in AVCA’s Division I Coaches Poll

SAN MARCOS, TX — There have been two American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) polls — so far — for the 2022 volleyball season and Texas State's volleyball program has appeared in both after the organization released its latest poll Monday afternoon.

After Texas State (3-0) appeared in the "receiving votes" section of the AVCA's Division I Preseason Coaches' Poll on Monday, Aug. 15, the Bobcats, which won all three of their matches during last weekend's Cardinal Classic hosted by UIW, earned three votes in the latest AVCA Division I Coaches Poll.

Texas State will enter this week's action as the only volleyball program in the Sun Belt Conference recognized by the head coaches that make up the AVCA poll.

Following last weekend's action, Texas State will continue its road warrior ways as the Bobcats travel to the Hawaiian Islands this week to participate in the Outrigger Volleyball Challenge, hosted by the University of Hawaii at Manoa. While on the islands, Texas State will play Hawaii on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. HT / Friday, Sept. 3 at 12 a.m. CT, before playing No. 23 UCLA on Friday, Sept. 3 at 9:45 p.m. HT / 4:45 p.m. CT. The Bobcats will wrap up their three-match schedule on Sunday, Sept. 4 against West Virginia at 7:45 p.m. HT / 2:45 p.m. CT.
