SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State middle blocker
Jade Defraeye was tabbed named as an AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention out of the Southwest Region.
This is Defraeye's first All-Region Honorable Mention of her career. She is the first Bobcat since 2021 to earn the accolade, with Emily DeWalt and Janell Fitzgerald earning honorable mentions that season. Texas State has had 10 All-Region selections and five Honorable Mentions in program history.

The award honors volleyball student-athletes from the various AVCA regions, with Texas State being in the Southwest Region. AVCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes and voted for the teams.

Defraeye was a First Team All-Conference selection in the Sun Belt for the Bobcats this season and was named to the SBC All-Tournament team as well. Defraeye made Texas State program history this season by becoming the program's single-season and all-time block assist category leader with 147 block assistst this season, and 386 in her career. Defraeye also became the first Bobcat since 2022 to have over 400 career blocks this season. Defraeye was one of the best blockers in the Sun Belt this season with 1.39 per set while also having one of the most effective swings, recording 231 kills on 529 attacks for a .321 attack percentage. She was responsible for 315.5 points for Texas State this season.

Texas State finished its 2025 season with a 17-12 record and an appearance in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semi-final.
