About Texas State
The Bobcats claimed a 1-0 victory on Thursday over St. Mary's (TX) with the long goal being knocked in by Zoe Junior in the 86th minute. Assisting on the tally was Addison Peters and Avery Thies, both the first of their collegiate careers. Bailey Peschel took a team-high four shots and placed two of her attempts on frame.

In goal, Katelyn Chrisman played all 90 minutes against the Rattlers to earn her first career shutout. She faced just one shot on the night that was off target. It was the eighth time in team history that TXST has held an opponent to zero shots on goal. The one shot allowed was the fewest since also surrendering just one attempt to Prairie View A&M on Aug. 19, 2011.

About Incarnate Word
The Cardinals are coming off a 9-10-2 season that ended in the finals of the Southland Conference Tournament. They were picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll of the nine-team league. Sunday will be UIW's season opener after its match with Prairie View A&M, which was scheduled for Thursday, was canceled.

Sierra Wannamaker is the top returner from last season offensive after netting five goals and totaling 13 points. She also attempted 39 shots with 19 on goal. Keeley Ayala found the back of the net three times, aided on two other goals while pacing the squad with 59 shots and 28 shots on goal.

Both goalkeepers that saw action are back from last year. Margaret Kofron played and started 12 matches between the posts on her way to producing a 1.30 GAA with 42 saves and a .724 save percentage. Makenzie Hall started nine matches. She recorded a 0.65 GAA while posting a .818 save percentage after making 27 saves.

All-Time Series
Texas State leads the all-time series 2-0-0. The Bobcats won the first meeting, which took place in San Marcos, 1-0 on Aug. 23, 2019 with the long goal coming from Peschel early in the 39th minute. Last season, TXST came from behind with two goals in the last 20 minutes to claim a 2-1 victory on the road.
