SAN MARCOS, Texas - In the newest episode of the States Up podcast, Texas State baseball player
Tristan Stivors discusses what it has been like for the Bobcats to rise from last season to this season's success as well as his own personal ascent from former football recruit to baseball standout.
Stivors and the Bobcats are playing in the Stanford Regional this weekend and are coming off a historical regular season. While the team has a program-record 45 wins and won the Sun Belt Conference championship, the right-handed reliever is currently leading the nation in saves and is the anchor of the Texas State bullpen.
In the podcast, Stivors shares what it has taken to reach the level of personal and team success this year, especially coming off a disappointing 2021 season. He also shares how he started to love the game of baseball, his "best on the field" mentality, his journey from junior college to Texas State, and who amongst his teammates are an up-and-coming music duo.
