SAN MARCOS, Texas – After a weekend off of competition, Texas State track and field returns for its final home meet of the season this Friday and Saturday with the 2022 Charles Austin Classic at the Texas State Track & Field Complex.
The meet will feature the Bobcats and eight other schools.
The women's team is currently ranked No. 41 in the nation in USTFCCCA National Rating Index (TFRI), dropping two spots after not accumulating any points following an off weekend.
Katherine Stuckly (high jump),
Anayah Washington (long jump), and
Alyssa Wilson (shot put, discus, hammer throw) have all put up points for the Bobcats in the index to help keep the team ranked among the nation's best.
Texas State is the highest ranked women's team in the Sun Belt, with the next highest ranked team (Louisiana) sitting at No. 76.
Helping lead the women's side,
Sadi Giles (100 meter), Stuckly (high jump), Washington (long jump), Wilson (shot put, discus, hammer) and
Sedrickia Wynn (200 meter, 100 meter hurdles) are all sitting in the regional qualified position with a month left in the season.
On the men's side,

The meet is named after Texas State Hall of Honor member and Olympic gold medalist Charles Austin. The three-time Olympian, who won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics, is the current Olympic and American high jump record holder and has won two gold medals at the world championships. He was inducted into the United States Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Texas State Hall of Honor in 2002. Austin still holds the Texas State school record in the men's high jump in both indoor (2.40m/7-6.5) and outdoor (2.35m/7-8.5) – marks that have stood since 1990.
The Bobcats will also recognize its seniors with a special ceremony on Saturday at 2:30 pm.
