TULSA, Okla. – After thunderstorms suspended play in the middle of round one, the Bobcats finished the day tied for sixth at the Oaks Country Club.
Day one of The Clerico was supposed to feature 36 holes, but due to rain and lightning round two was not played.
TEAM
On a wet course the Bobcats shot 13-over 297 and tied for sixth with Northern Iowa among 12 teams. Texas State is five strokes behind the teams tied for third, while New Mexico State is in first with four-under par.
The team was hindered by five double bogeys in the opening round.
INDIVIDUAL
Junior
Kasper Nyland finished the lone round of the day even on the course, recording his second round of 71 this season.
Sakke Siltala followed with three-over par after five bogeys and two birdies. A round of 74 has been the highest the freshman has recorded in a tournament so far, after recording two in the final rounds of the Tempest Collegiate.
