EUGENE, Ore. - Texas State senior
Ronnie Briscoe earned All-America honors in his first appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Wednesday night at Hayward Field.
Briscoe placed 16th in the men's long jump with 7.46 meters (24 feet, 5.75 inches) on his first attempt.
He jumped 7.20 meters (23 feet, 7.50 inches) on his second jump and had a foul on his third effort.
Briscoe was Texas State's lone competitor at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after qualifying with a career-best 7.71 meters (25 feet, 3.50 inches) at the NCAA Preliminaries.
