SAN MARCOS, Texas – For just the third time in program history and the first time since 2014, Texas State (15-19) travels to the Pacific Northwest for a weekend series at Washington (12-16) at Husky Ballpark.

Friday's game will begin at 7 p.m. CDT and Saturday's first pitch takes place at 4 p.m. CDT. The series finale on Sunday will begin at 2 p.m. CDT.

The series will be streamed for free on Pac-12 Plus with Jason Dorow on the call. Live stars will also be available for all three games.

Chase Evans led TXST with two hits on the night while
Peyton Lewis came off the bench going 1-for-1 with two walks and scored twice. On the mound,
Triston Dixon threw a career-high 3.2 innings and
Tony Robie was the only other hurler to go more than an inning with 2.2 frames of work.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
Jose Gonzalez leads the team with a .321 batting average, 13 doubles and three triples. His doubles total leads the Sun Belt Conference and is tied for the fourth most in the nation. The sophomore enters on an eight-game hitting streak in which he has gone 14-for-36 (.389) at the dish.
Justin Thompson comes in second in the Sun Belt Conference with 30 RBI and third with 42 hits. The third baseman also paces TXST with five home runs.

Looking to continue his strong Friday night outings is
Zachary Leigh, who comes in 2-4 with a 4.86 ERA and a team-high 48 strikeouts.
Garrett Herrmann will make his second straight Saturday start as he leads the Bobcats with a 2.25 ERA and sports a 4-0 record with 35 strikeouts.
Zeke Wood gets the call on Sunday as he sports a 2-2 record with 3.93 ERA and 37 strikeouts over 34.1 innings.

ABOUT WASHINGTON
Washington comes into the weekend on a two-game winning streak having beaten Portland Tuesday night and taking the series finale over Arizona State. The Huskies are 9-11 at home this season with eight of the losses coming on conference play.

Leading the team with a .299 batting average, 20 runs scored, 19 RBI, .398 OB%, 16 walks and five home runs is Will Simpson. Pacing the team with 11 doubles is Christian Jones.

Braiden Ward is tied for second in the nation with 21 stolen bases. He has swiped 76 in his career to rank fifth among active players. The utility player is hitting .287 with a team-high 31 hits and has been plunked 14 times, tied for the third most in the country.

Starting pitchers have yet to be announced for Washington.

Davis Delorefice (1-1, 2.30 ERA, 16 K) and Adam Bloebaum (0-3, 4.60 ERA, 39 K) have both recorded two saves. Colton Chamholm has thrown a team-high 15 games in relief. The sophomore is 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA and 14 strikeouts over 15 innings.

SERIES VS. THE HUSKIES
Washington won the lone previous meeting that took place on Feb. 15, 2014. The contest took place in San Marcos as part of the Texas State Baseball Invitational and ended 6-1.
