SAN MARCOS, Texas – The start of a five-game homestand begins for Texas State (5-8) on Tuesday when No. 9 TCU (8-3) comes to town. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Bobcat Ballpark.

Texas State went 1-2 over the weekend at the Shriners Hospital for Children College Classic that was played in Houston at Minute Maid Park. The Bobcats fell to Texas Tech and the Horned Frogs before closing out the tournament with a 9-1 victory over Rice.

ABOUT TEXAS STATE
Justin Thompson leads the team with a .391 batting average and three doubles. He ranks first in the Sun Belt Conference with 15 RBI and is tied for second with 18 hits.
Wesley Faison comes in with a team-high two home runs and is second with seven runs driven in.

Garrett Herrmann is slated to get his second start of the season on Tuesday. His first outing of the season came last week against New Mexico State in which he surrendered four runs in two innings and striking out two.

ABOUT TCU
TCU comes in having lost its final game of the Shriners College Classic on a walk-off double in the 10th inning to Sam Houston State. That loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Horned Frogs.

Phillip Sikes improved his team leading batting average to .419 while in Houston. He also paces the team with six doubles and 15 RBI. Luke Boyers leads TCU in hits (16) and runs (15) while hitting .372. Also batting .300 or better is Elijah Nunez (.364), Conner Shepherd (.300) and Brayden Taylor (.333).

Scheduled to start on the mound is Jacob Meador. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 1.04 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 8.2 innings while holding opponents to a .103 average. It will be his second start of the season as he went 6.2 innings and gave up a run with six strikeouts last Tuesday in a win over Stephen F. Austin.

SERIES VS. HORNED FROGS
The all-time series favors TCU 25-13 after this past Saturday's meeting. Prior to the loss, Texas State had won two straight games in the series with those two victories being in 2012. When hosting the Horned Frogs, the Bobcats are 3-5 all-time with a win each coming in 1998, 2001 and the aforementioned 2012 season.
