Baseball Releases 2021 Schedule

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State head coach Steven Trout has announced the 2021 baseball schedule on Thursday. The slate currently features 49 games with 27 taking place at Bobcat Ballpark. A series in April and more midweek games will be added in the next couple of weeks.
 
The Bobcats open the season at home with a four-game series against BYU (Feb. 19-20, 22) with a doubleheader scheduled for the 20th.
 
A neutral site contest against Sam Houston State follows on Feb. 24 up in Arlington, Texas at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers. It is the first of two MLB stadiums that Texas State will play at this season. The month ends with a three-game set at Lamar.
 
The lone game against I-35 rival UTSA takes place on Mar. 2 in San Marcos. After competing in the Shriners College Classic, the Bobcats return home for five straight games beginning with TCU on Mar. 9. TXST hosts Houston for a weekend series before concluding the homestand on Mar. 17 against Rice.
 
Sun Belt Conference play this season will see teams play 24 games over eight weekends. The Bobcats begin conference action at Little Rock (Mar. 19-21). Back-to-back home series follow for Texas State against ULM (Mar. 26-28) and UT Arlington (Apr. 1-3).
 
The following week sees the Bobcats on the road at UT Rio Grande Valley (Apr. 6) and Troy (Apr. 9-11).
 
On Apr. 13, Texas State welcomes Texas A&M to Bobcat Ballpark. It will be just the 12th time that the Aggies come to San Marcos with the last being in the 2017 season. The weekend series opponent and location for Apr. 16-18 will be announced at a later date.
 
A week after hosting Texas A&M, the Bobcats take on Texas at home. The final weekend of April sees Arkansas State come to San Marcos.
 
Texas State heads off to face Louisiana Apr. 30-May 2 and then travel up to Austin on May 4 to take on the Longhorns. The Bobcats play fellow Sun Belt member South Alabama in a non-conference series May 7-9. A week later, TXST concludes its home schedule against Georgia State.
 
The final week of the regular season will see Texas State travel up to Fort Worth, Texas to face TCU (May 18) and then head out to Coastal Carolina (May 20-22).
 
May 25-30 sees the Sun Belt Conference Championship be played in Montgomery, Alabama at Riverwalk Stadium, home of the Montgomery Biscuits.
 
Fans interested in purchasing season tickets can contact the Texas State Ticket Office by phone (512-245-2272). Seating capacity at Bobcat Ballpark will be limited this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More information on the attendance policy will be announced in the coming weeks.
