SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team (0-3-1) closes out its homestand at the Bobcat Soccer Complex with two matches. First on the docket is Central Arkansas (1-1-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by the Sun Belt Conference opener against Louisiana (2-1-0) at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ with
Brant Freeman on the call. Live stats will also be available for the two contests.

Goals2Cure
Texas State is putting on its fourth annual Goals2Cure initiative that raises funds in support of women fighting ovarian cancer. TXST is collecting pledges for each goal scored this season with donations going directly to benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. To donate, go to the following link:

Last Weekend
The Bobcats dropped both matches at home to Lamar (1-0) and Abilene Christian (3-2; OT).
Kiara Gonzales started the scoring against the Wildcats by heading in a corner kick from
Renny Moore.
Sydney Kammer tied the match early in the 76th minute. The overtime contest was the third in four matches this season for TXST.
Beth Agee played every minute between the posts and registered 14 saves to give her 30 on the season which leads the nation.
Inexperience Between the Posts
After having the incredible goalkeeping duo of
Kathryn Budde and
Heather Martin the last four years, Texas State starts over with freshmen
Beth Agee and
Abby Lucksinger between the posts. For the Bobcats, it will be just the second time in program history that they don't have a goalkeeper with Division I experience on the roster with the first time being the inaugural season in 1999.
Scouting Central Arkansas
Central Arkansas opened its season last weekend with a 1-0 win over Little Rock at home. The Bears followed with a 2-0 loss to Arkansas State on Sunday.
Emma Hawkins has scored the lone goal of the season while pacing the team with eight shots and three shots on goal. Taking three shots apiece has been Sydney Brough, Hadley Dickinson and Anika Sulton.
Reagan McCombs played all 180 minutes last weekend in goal. She enters with a 1.00 GAA, four saves and a .667 save percentage.
All-Time vs. Bears
Texas State leads the all-time series over the Bears 5-1-0. The last meeting came on Oct. 16, 2011 in Conway, Arkansas with the Bobcats exiting with a 2-0 victory. Last time the teams met in San Marcos was Oct. 8, 2010 and saw TXST win 1-0.
The lone win for UCA in the series was on Oct. 28, 2007 in Conway. The Bears won 1-0, which is also the only time they have found the back of the net against Texas State.
Scouting Louisiana
Louisiana is coming off a 1-0 loss on Sunday at home to Stephen F. Austin. The opening weekend of the season saw the Ragin' Cajuns beat Abilene Christian (2-0) at home and South Alabama (2-1; 2OT) in Foley, Alabama. This Sunday's match is also the conference opener for LA.
Lizzie Mayfield leads the conference with two goals and assists. The West Virginia transfer has taken a team-high nine shots and placed eight on goal. Both Alyssa Abbot and Julianne DeBlieux have scored once. An assist has been credited to Skyla Sykes.
Jordan Higgins has started all three matches between the posts. The junior college transfer sports a 0.63 GAA and a .867 save percentage with 13 saves.
All-Time vs. Ragin' Cajuns
Texas State holds a 7-1-0 advantage in the series over Louisiana. Last year, the Bobcats won 1-0 at home when
Mackenzie Smith put back a rebound off a shot from
Kaylee Davis. When hosting the Ragin' Cajuns, TXST is 4-0-0 and have given up just one goal.
Louisiana's lone win in the series came on Oct. 18, 2013 in Lafayette by a 5-2 score. It was the teams' first meeting as Sun Belt opponents.
The largest margin of victory in the series was a 9-0 win for the Bobcats on Sept. 22, 200 at home. It is tied for the third largest margin of victory in program history.
