SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team was ranked 30th in the
Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll that was released on Monday. It is the highest preseason ranking for the Bobcats since beginning the 2012 season 35th in the first poll from
Collegiate Baseball.

Texas State finished the shortened 2020 season with a Sun Belt Conference best 14-4 record. The Bobcats also ended the year on a seven-game winning streak that is tied for the 10th longest active streak in the nation.

Eight of last year's 10 seniors return after being granted an extra-year of eligibility by the NCAA. Texas State brings back all seven pitchers that made a start on the rubber and the entire batting lineup as well.

Also joining the Bobcats in the preseason poll from the Sun Belt was Coastal Carolina (No. 23). Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Louisiana, South Alabama, Troy, ULM and UT Arlington also received votes.
