GETTING MORA AT THE TOP
Mora, a senior, has been a force in the Bobcat lineup over the last three seasons. She was named to the All-Sun Belt team following the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Since the start of the 2016-17 season, Mora has placed inside the top-25 a total of 13 times and has six top-10 finishes and three top-5 finishes to her credit. She has led the Bobcats in scoring average in each of the last three seasons.
AOM-ING FOR THE WIN
Somboonsup, better known as Aom by her teammates, has won four events since joining the Bobcats prior to the 2016-17 season. She is the only TXST women's golfer to win multiple events in two different seasons. Her last victory came at the UTRGV Invitational on March 6, 2018. Aom achieved all-conference status as a freshman and sophomore.
CARRYING THE BAG
The Texas State women's golf program is dedicating the 2018-19 season to former Texas State graduate student Darryn Deen Andrews, a United States Army 2nd Lieutenant killed after his unit was ambushed while serving in Pakitika Province, Afghanistan on Sept. 4, 2009. In every tournament this season, a Bobcat will carry a special bag to honor 2nd Lieutenant Andrews. Wong will carry the bag at the Texas State Invitational.
LAST TIME OUT
Texas State concluded the fall portion of the schedule on a high note, finishing sixth out of 15 teams at the prestigious Jim West Challenge. Within the weekend, TXST shot a record-low second round of 278 and defeated No. 21 Miami (Fla.), No. 34 Texas Tech and No. 50 Texas A&M.
Mora led the charge for the Bobcats, finishing t-16th after shooting a 1-under 215 (73+69+73). Wong joined Mora in the top-20 with a t-19th effort after shooting an even 216 (73+68+75).
