Tramesha Hardy was named the Women's Track Most Outstanding Performer, junior
Leslie Romero was honored as the Women's Newcomer of the Year award, junior
Ben Collerton was named the Men's Field Most Outstanding Performer, and head coach
Jody Stewart won his seventh overall Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year award and his fifth specifically for women's track and field. All-in-all, the Bobcats crowned four individual champions across six events, set five new school records, and totaled 21
all-conference selections in the championship meet.
Coach Stewart was tabbed the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year award on the women's side after leading the team to its third consecutive Sun Belt Conference indoor championship title. Coach Stewart has tallied six coach of the year titles specifically for the women's team including his plaudit for the cross county team in 2017. Stewart's first laurel of this magnitude was for the men's indoor team in 2016.
Senior
Tramesha Hardy concluded her decorated indoor track and field career by being named the Sun Belt Conference Outstanding Track Athlete for the third year in a row (2017-19). Hardy, a three-time Top Scoring Performer for the league, totaled 30 points in the 2019 Sun Belt Indoor Championships after winning the 400-meter dash (55.14 seconds) and took gold in the 200-meter dash, stopping the clock at a TXST record-breaking time of 23.51 seconds. The Houston, Texas native claimed her third and fourth consecutive titles in the 400 and 200-meter dash, respectively. Hardy also placed second in the 60-meter dash clocking out at 7.46 seconds and was a part of the women's 4x400 relay team that also placed second (3:46.47).
Junior newcomer
Leslie Romero showed out at the 2019 Sun Belt Indoor Championships by winning two events where she set new school records in both. Romero won the first gold medal for the Bobcats on day one in the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:40.57, topping her own school record that she set earlier this year. She then dominated the competition on day two in the 5000-meter run on day two where she ran a time of 17:06.00, another school record.
Junior
Ben Collerton won his second consecutive gold medal in the men's heptathlon and rewrote both the Sun Belt Conference and Texas State record book by accumulating 5,379 points. The mark breaks his own record of 5,115 points set a year ago.
