SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team is set for its second two-game midweek action of the season. The Bobcats (15-11-1, 4-5 SBC) will first travel to Baylor (13-12, 3-6 Big 12) at 6:35 p.m. April 2 for a makeup contest. They will then play host to UTSA (14-11, 5-3) at 6 p.m. April 3 in the final of a three-game series in 2018.
TXST owns a 3-1 mark in Waco against Baylor in the last four meetings, but the Bears defeated the Bobcats 10-2 a year ago.Baylor leads the all-time series 49-23, but the maroon and gold is 6-4 over BU in the last 10 overall meetings.
Texas State leads the all-time series with UTSA 57-34. The two teams split a two-game set last year, and they have split two meetings this season.
A LOOK AT TEXAS STATE
•   Texas State is currently 15-11-1 this after losing a three-game series to Little Rock this past weekend.
•   The Bobcats won the series finale against the Trojans to snap a six-game losing streak.

Dylan Paul leads TXST in batting average overall this season, as he is hitting .314 (33-for-105).

Derek Scheible is the team leader in RBIs (23), home runs (8) and runs scored (26).

A LOOK AT BAYLOR
•   BU has lost five of its last seven games, including a three-game sweep at Oklahoma this past weekend. The Bears picked up a midweek triumph over Prairie View A&M after dropping a home series to Kansas.
•   The Bears were 34-23 last season and went 12-12 against Big 12 Conference competition.
•   BU lost both matchups in the Big 12 Conference Championship but still qualified as an at-large selection to compete in the NCAA Houston Regional. The Bears bowed out after two games.
•   The team was selected to finish eighth in the 2018 Big 12 standings in a preseason poll of the conference's head coaches.
•   Baylor features preseason first team All-American Shea Langeliers and fellow preseason All-American Troy Montemayor.
•   Andy Thomas leads the Bears with a .360 batting average (31-for-86) this year.
A LOOK AT UTSA
•   The Roadrunners (14-11, 5-3 C-USA) have been rolling lately after taking down TXST on March 20.
•   They used that win to springboard into a seven-game win streak that included a sweep at Marshall. They won a series against Western Kentucky but had their win streak snapped in the finale with the Roadrunners.
•   Trent Bowles leads the Roadrunners with a .323 batting average (30-for-93). He leads UTSA in runs scored (20), home runs (5) and is second with 18 RBIs.
