SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State University women's basketball plays its final regular season home game at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday against Troy. The Bobcats and Trojans are separated by a game in the Sun Belt standings.
Prior to the game redshirt senior Erin Peoples will be honored for her commitment and contributions to Bobcat women's basketball.
Scene Setter
• Texas State plays its 27th game and 16th Sun Belt Conference tilt of 2016-17 slate on Sat., Feb. 25 against Troy.
• The Bobcats are 15-11 on the season, including 10-5 in Sun Belt play, having won nine of their last 11 and boast the Sun Belt's second-best overall scoring defense at 57.3 points per game.
• Texas State most recently defeated South Alabama 55-39 on Thursday (Feb. 23). Troy, which is 11-4 in conference play, holds an 18-8 overall record and has won four of its last six. The Trojan most recently fell 78-72 at UTA on Thursday.
TXST vs. Troy
• Saturday marks the eighth meeting between Texas State and Troy with the Trojans leading the series 4-3. The Bobcats won the first three games in the series and Troy the last four.
• Last season Troy won both meetings --112-79 in Troy and 88-73 in San Marcos.
• Troy won this season's first meeting by a 65-54 margin in Troy back on Jan. 12.
Taeler Deer led the Bobcats in the contest with 17 points, while Caitlyn Ramirez posted a 21-point, 16-rebound double-double to pace the Trojans.
Last Time Out For the Bobcats

Toshua Leavitt connected on five 3-pointers on her way to scoring a game-high 17 points in leading Texas State to a 55-39 win over South Alabama Thursday evening in Sun Belt Conference women's basketball action.
• Leavitt, who has made five or more threes in three consecutive games, is now tied for fourth with Diamond Ford (2012-13) on the Texas State single-season 3-point field goal made list with 63.
• Texas State (15-11, 10-5 Sun Belt) finished the contest shooting 38.6 percent (22 of 57) from the floor, outscored South Alabama 22-18 in the paint and converted 15 points off 18 Jaguar turnovers.
• No South Alabama (9-17, 4-11 Sun Belt) player reached double-figures as Candice Williams finished as the Jaguars' top scorer with nine. The Bobcats' top-ranked league defense limited South Alabama to 14 of 51 shooting (27.5 percent), including 3 of 18 from beyond the arc.
Noteworthy Performances
• South Alabama's 39 points were the second fewest allowed by the Bobcats this season, trailing only the 37 surrendered at Appalachian State on Jan. 26.
• Texas State improved to 10-0 when allowing its opponents 50 points or less.

• Saturday's game against Troy will be the last scheduled contest at Strahan Coliseum for redshirt senior
Erin Peoples.
• The Little Rock, Ark., native ranks 11th on the TXST all-time scoring list with 1,087 points, second in blocks (69), fourth in steals (183) and eighth in rebounding (692).
• During her career she has been honored as a WAC all-newcomer team member, a second team All-Sun Belt selection and was named preseason All-Sun Belt this season.

• The 2017 Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships are scheduled for a week of March Madness in the Big Easy.
