Granger Studdard and
Ben McElroy. Later, in the sixth inning,
Tanner Hill knocked a solo home run to give Texas State three runs, but Texas outlasted the Bobcats, 7-3.
Â
In the meeting in San Marcos last season, the Bobcats again scored two first-inning runs.
Cory Geisler led off with a solo home run and
David Paiz brought in
Cedric Vallieres on an RBI double. Texas State added runs in the fourth and fifth innings when
Derek Scheible scored on a base knock from
Luke Sherley, and Studdard hit Texas State's second homer of the night. The Bobcats headed to the eighth inning with a 4-2 lead on the Longhorns, but a late surge from Texas stole the game by a score of 6-4.
