SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team will play its first dual match of the 2016-17 season when the Bobcats host Prairie View A&M at the Bobcat Tennis Complex on Saturday, October 29, beginning at 10 a.m.
 
Texas State enters the match after a strong showing at the ITA Regional Championships in Waco. The Bobcats posted 12 wins and had all three doubles team and two singles players win matches in the main bracket. Another singles player reach the consolation quarterfinals.
 
Senior Pippa Carr continued her stellar fall campaign when she won two straight matches to advance to the round of 32 and Ana Perez won her first singles match in the main bracket. Carr had entered the tournament having won the No. 2 singles flight at the Air Force Invitational.
 
Meanwhile, Yadira Rubio advanced to the fourth round of the consolation singles bracket, while one doubles team (Carr and Joy Chia Ming Ming) progressed to the round of eight despite Chia making her fall debut at the tournament. In addition, Eva Dench and Alex Jones reached the consolation finals.
