SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State softball team rides on a four-game winning streak heading into the final home conference series against Appalachian State on April 24-25. The Bobcats and the Mountaineers will play in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. and a single game Sunday at 12 p.m. at the Bobcat Softball Stadium.

At the conclusion of Sunday's single game, the Texas State softball team will celebrate its seniors in an on field presentation.

The Bobcats enter the weekend with a 26-19 overall record and 8-6 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. Freshman catcher
Sara Rupp led the Bobcats to a victory Wednesday evening as she launched a walk-off homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. Her twin sister,
Randi Rupp, earned her 18
th victory of the season after the home run.

Texas State currently ranks fourth in the SBC standings behind Troy, UL Lafayette, and South Alabama.

A Look At The CompetitionThe Mountaineers come into the weekend with a 13-29 overall record and 1-19 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. Appalachian State is currently in ninth place in the nine team league.

Sarah Warnock leads the team offensively as she is averaging .324 from the plate in 111 at bats. She has a team-high eight doubles and a slugging percentage of .532.

Caroline Chambers leads the Mountaineers with eight home runs and is one of four players with over 100 at bats to carry a .300 batting average.

As a team, the Mountaineers are averaging .275 from the plate and have hit 37 home runs. Appalachian State ranks eighth in the conference in fielding percentage with a mark of .947.

In the circle, the Mountaineers are led by Vanessa Ciocatto with a 5.93 ERA in a team-high 89.2 innings pitched. She has struck out a team-high 54 batters and has two complete games this season.

Bobcat TidbitsWith two home runs against the Islanders last Wednesday evening, the Bobcats are now just eight home runs shy of tying the program record of 59 set back in 2003.
Kortney Koroll launched her team-leading 10
th home run in the victory while
Sara Rupp hit her fifth.

The 2015 Bobcats are also on pace to top the all-time batting average mark. Currently, Texas State is boasting a team batting average of .293, a mark that would be 18 points higher than the program-high of .275 set back in 1999.

Kendall Wiley leads the Bobcats with a .417 batting average and 55 hits. She has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week twice this year.

Ariel Ortiz own the other to POW nods for the Bobcats. Ortiz earned hers in the first weekend of play while Rupp was recognized last week after her perfect game against Houston Baptist.
