SAN MARCOS, Texas —The Texas State softball team will travel to Auburn, Ala. this weekend for the Wilson/Demarini Classic that is hosted by the Auburn Tigers. The Bobcats will play in five games from Thursday through Saturday.

The 'Cats first match up will be against Auburn on Thursday at 5 p.m., with the rest of the evening off. They will then play SIUE on Friday at 12:15 p.m., followed by Samford at 7:15 p.m. And they will finish off the tournament with two back-to-back games against Connecticut at 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.\
Thursday's game with the Tigers can be seen online on SEC Network+, which is only available on the Watch ESPN app or WatchESPN.com. Brit Bowen and Jessi Duval will be on the call.

A Look at the Competition AuburnThe Tigers are currently 17-1 this season, with their only loss being a 4-2 decision against Dartmouth. Tiffany Howard leads the Tigers in batting average with .604, and ties with Emily Carosone for runs scored with 27 each.

Auburn has launched 36 home runs this season compared to just five by their opponents.

Lexi Davis, Rachael Walters, and Marcy Harper have a combined 90.0 innings pitched with 83 strikeouts. Davis leads the way with an 8-0 record in 37.2 innings in the circle. Opponents average just .222 against the Tigers so far this season.

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUD) With a 7-2 record so far, the Cougars have a team batting average of .311 with seven home runs and 49 runs scored. The two losses this season for the Cougars were a 4-3 loss to Sun Belt Conference member UL Monroe and a 9-0 shutout loss against Georgia.

Haley Chambers not only leads the way in the batter's box for the Cougars with a .464 batting average, but she also owns a commanding 5-0 record in a team-high 30.0 innings pitched in the circle. She has struck out 42 and has a 0.93 ERA.

SamfordSamford is currently 12-2 through the first few weeks of competition with a 4-1 record at a neutral site. The team is averaging .360 with Megan Dowdy leading the way with an average of .491.

Caitlin Bice has recorded a team-high 15 and four home runs for the Bulldogs. Four members of the Bulldog squad are averaging over .400 and an addition five more are averaging above .300.

The Bulldogs own a 3.61 ERA as Mollie Hanson leads the team with a 2.27 mark. She has struck out a team-high 21 batters and has held her opponents to a .221 batting average.

ConnecticutThe Huskies enter the Wilson/DeMarini Classic with a 3-2 overall record after competing at the Troy Invitational this past weekend. UConn won its last two games of the tournament against Northern Illinois and Evansville and the first game of the season against Kennesaw State.

The two losses so far for the Huskies were against SBC foe Troy.

Jacklyn Dubois leads the Huskies in the batter's box, hitting .429 through 14 at bats. Alyson Ambler leads the team in RBI with six, total bases with 10, and home runs with two. Lauren Duggan leads the Huskies in the circle with a 1.93 ERA in 14.0 innings pitched.

About the BobcatsThe Bobcats are entering the tournament with a 9-7 record after finishing 4-2 at the EMU Madeira Beach Spring Invitational last weekend.

Junior first baseman
Kendall Wiley had the most explosive weekend of her career at the Madeira Beach Classic, launching six home runs in six games throughout the weekend. Wiley recorded a total of 10 hits on the weekend for a total of 28 bases.

With her six home runs this weekend, Wiley now sits at the top of the conference with seven total home runs and 42 total bases. Wiley recorded a hit in every game this weekend and has now successfully reached base in 15 consecutive games. Â

Wiley has now surpassed her 2014 home run total of six.  Against Robert Morris, Wiley went a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate where all three of her plate appearances resulted in a home run. Her three home runs against Robert Morris was the most home runs hit in a single game by any Sun Belt Conference player since April 10, 2013. Â
