Game Notes

San Marcos, Texas – Texas State returns to action quickly after the Easter weekend with a Monday game on the road against No. 18 Rice and a Tuesday game at home against Prairie View A&M before heading to the road for the next Western Athletic Conference series over the weekend at Sacramento State.

Rice has jumped out to a 20-10 record in the first half of the season and is 12-4 at home. The Owls lost their last game, a series ender against Tulane, but won four of their previous five before that. Rice will field three players consistently hitting above .300: Geoff Perrott (.351), Michael Aquino (.337) and Keenan Cook (.307).

The Bobcats beat Rice last season, 3-1, in San Marcos, but haven't shot the Owls down on the road since May 5, 2009. Prairie View A&M, however, is a different story. When the Bobcats face the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Texas State will be looking for its 29th consecutive victory in the series.

Head Coach Ty Harrington is undefeated against Prairie View A&M in eight games and the Bobcats have only dropped one game to the Panthers in 36 meetings. The Panthers will bring two hitters to San Marcos above .300: Dominiq Harris (.313) and Greg Salcido (.306).

Both teams will have to counter Texas State's trio of .300 hitters: Cody Lovejoy (.368), Kevin Sah (.325) and Colby Targun (.303).

Fans will be able to follow along with all of the action live through live stats here. Tune in to 89.9 KTSW or log on to www.txstatebobcats.com/radio for live audio, and, as always, there will be frequent updates also provided throughout the game on the baseball Twitter account - @TxStateBaseball.
