Game Notes
San Marcos, Texas – Texas State has yet to play a weekend series on the road. This weekend's series against Northern Kentucky marks the third home series of the season. The games will be played at 6:30 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
The Norse are winless in four games on the road while the Bobcats are 2-4 in San Marcos this season.
Texas State will be going against a pitching staff that currently allows an opponents' batting average of .335 and has only struck out 37 batters on the year. Meanwhile, The Bobcats have struck out 44 more batters with 77 for the season. Texas State has also worked pitchers for more walks than the Norse with a 37-26 advantage.
This series marks the first ever meeting between Northern Kentucky and Texas State.
The Norse started off with four road games this season, losing all of them to Lamar, but bounced back with a win against Saint Louis on a neutral field in Nashville, Tenn. Northern Kentucky dropped the next two games in Nashville to head to Texas on a two-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats won their second game of the season, a 2-0 victory against Tulane, and the opening game of the Houston series, 6-1, but have dropped the last three.
