GAME NOTES

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Texas State baseball will look to bounce back from a tough weekend against the team's second ranked opponent of the season, No. 23 Baylor. The Bobcats will travel to Waco for the 63rd meeting between the two teams scheduled for a 6:35 p.m. start on Tuesday at Baylor Ballpark.

Texas State had a good showing throughout the CenturyLink Baseball Invitational, but just couldn't score the runs needed to come out ahead. But as tough as Texas State's weekend was, Baylor went 0-3 against No. 30 UC-Irvine.

The Bobcat pitching staff tallied 25 strikeouts over the first two games with Kyle Finnegan doing the heavy lifting with 11 of his own. Taylor Black added seven in two very impressive games for the Texas State pitching staff.

Then, in the third game of the weekend, the bats came alive in the seventh inning for an eight-run explosion jumpstarted by a leadoff single from freshman second baseman J.D. Stinnett.

Fans will be able to follow along with all of the action live with streaming audio and live stats through www.txstatebobcats.com. Frequent updates will also be provided throughout the game on the baseball Twitter account - @TxStateBaseball. In addition, Baylor will provide a video stream of the action at their athletics website – www.baylorbears.com.
